From what I can see,,,, the fastest regular PCI video card is the Nvidia 6200 256mb card..
Can this be confirmed ?
Maybe add the regular PCI bus to the superlatives page ?
I know the PCI bus is old stuff,,,, but they are still in use.... I have a friend that plays from a dell docking station with a PCI slot available in the docking station.... he currently has a GeForce 4 MX420 64mb card in there.... We are looking for the fastest PCI card so we can put that in there for him..
THX for any info !!!:D

PCI is old, bad and it is not being made anymore.
The last PCI card to be made was the 6200, over 2 years ago.

Indeed. PCI was deprecated long before this site existed.

Not to mention that PCI would bottleneck any CPU today, having 16 times less bandwidth than AGP x8..
Needless to say, PCI is for ppl who do not want to play games at all, but only use Windows for multi-tasking. The 6200 would not run as well in a PCI slot, as it would in an AGP slot, so ur wasting that small bit of money that u do spend on it. I doubt a PCI card could even power Windows Vista.

But ...
there are other platforms that use retail graphics cards that are not conventional desktops.
in this case i have a friend that has a dell laptop with a docking station that has two 32bit PCI expansion slots.... he currently has a GeForce 4 mx420 64mb card in there.... works great.. but he just upgraded to a 19 widescreen and needs a video upgrade.
he does not game on it... but imagine he would if the PCI card worked a little better he could at least play Counter-Strike Source with us... he mainly does CAD work on it...Blueprinting and stuff..
Sooo.. with that said...
From what I have found the GeForce 6200 256mb card is the fastest PCI card out there at this time.... 11/29/2006 @ 10pm CST around $99.00.
Does anyone else have any info that would confirm or change my assumption that the 6200 256mb card is the fastest 32bit PCI card being sold at this time ?

Actually, visiontek and his both make PCI versions of the X1300. That would be better than the 6200 if you can find one.
