ok, i think, that most of us on this forum are big boys and girls. To that end, I think we should be allowed to edit some of the aspects of GPU review, mainly its card data base. EX, the X1650 Pro, under vendors you have one, Powercolor. But sapphire also has a card.

So Instead of making you have to find it in whatever time, or wasting board space with a post saying "please add this" why dont you just make it editable for members. just have a link, that takes you to the source page (in some form of java making it easy to edit please, I dont feel like going thru hours of code to add one link) that will allow membes to make minor changes. if everything goes wrong and some NV fanboy deletes the ATi archive well, then society sucks. but other wise, i think it could be a good way to save mods time, and make the site a little more accurate.

--mind you, its already pretty kick ass. like really, this site is like, the best thing for me and my customers since sliced bread.

The process of adding cards is mostly automated. I have a script which scans manufacturers webpages and finds links to new cards. I then have an entire system to add the cards to the database.

While I'm not going to open up this system to anyone who comes to the website, I would consider letting you use it on a trial basis (I'm VERY picky about how the cards go in).

That being said, I looked at both the AGP and PCI-E versions of the x1650 pro and I don't see what you're talking about.

Well obviously u cannot open a site up for everyone to be able to change. There may not be many members on this site, and thus, in sense we are a small comunity in wich everyone could be found trutworthy, but as long as this site is open to the free world, u cannot turn it into a "Wiki" site, even thought Wikipedia is doing quite nicely, but thats because its bigger.

I doubt many ppl will want the responsiblity that comes with having the ability to change the content of the site, but if some choose to take it on themselves, and are found trustworthy, then maybe we can have a few senior members who can add more to the site, in their free time.
However there is no one as responsible as Mike, not even the other guy who currently has the ability to change the content on the site, and i wouldnt trust the site as much if someone other than Mike were to handle the info wrriten here.

What i call for, is bringring back the "submit content" page. It gives ppl the ability to contribute, while the information going through Mike. Its a great idea.

I think the Contact page and forums can serve the purpose of the submission page.

If you'd like something added to the site, just post the info, along with a reference, and I'll take care of it.

Yeh. That would serve the same purpose as a sumbission page - going through you.
The only way i can think of to make it even more efficient than that, would be to apply more ppl to be able to change the content of the site, and then the site would loose some credibility.

yeah fair enough

and what I meant about the X1650 pro, is simply that you alone dont stand much of a chance at getting all the board vendors out under the listed...
edit: wtf was my first post talking about.... :D
anywho, my point was, at the time, that I dont know all the X1650 pro board vendors, Mike and Track dont know all the board vendors, but the knowledge of the community could fill in any blanks, not just about board vendors, but reviews sites have done, any details that might be wrong, (such as listed clock speeds, or not-listed ammount of memory).

edit: oh yeah now I remember you didnt have powercolor listed under "XX retail cards based on this board". but you do now, maybe i was just blind when I blind when I made my first post.

I think you might be under-estimating my capabilities...here's a screenshot of the program I wrote to handle finding and adding retail cards:

I take partial responsibility for the build up cards that are not in the database. I was doing other stuff. I am going to spend about 5 hours today listening to music and adding cards to the database.

There are 258 cards in the parser that need to be added. I will get probably half or more of those added to day.

I still love ya!

EDIT
It is taking longer than I thought. I have only managed to add 64 in 2 and a half hours.

That kicks ass man. I'm slammed with finals right now, but I'll be sure to get the whole thing up to speed over the holidays...

Well I have done all that i can without crippling pain kicking in.

There 120 more that I can add from work. And 41 that I can't add for various reasons.

So that means I added 97 cards. Well I guess I can add 3 more and make it an even 100.;)
