well i was reading some news at tom's hardware and anandtech, shiet i see amd's gonna release the 4x4's sometime next week. what is the 4x4 plan? I mean ive seen what it is. 2 dual core cpus(4 cores total) against a native intel quad core. so the intel quad core is running on 2 die's right? because of its just using 2 conroe's right??? and amd's 4x4 is running on 4 die's then right???

lol im asking all of these questions at a videocard forum but u know we know more than video cards.

Well i know the 4x4 isnt exactly going against the intel quads but is just being compared to.
I read that the 4x4's were just going to be a alternative way to use the computer just like quad cores, dual cores, single cores, and 4x4(2 dual core cpus on different pcb's).
heh the good part is to be upgradeable with amd's quad core to get 8 cores lol

i say that 4x4 would be good for some workstation comps.
and it would be a alternative way to compute.

another question is when is amd gonna release their quad cores???
their 4x4 plan is just going to be a premature look at their quad cores which i believe there wouldnt be much difference...

watchu guys think about amd's 4x4 and soon quad core and intel's current quad???
who will own the most?

I actually hanv't been researching AMD CPUs recently.

Your saying "4x4" has 2 CPUs(!), with each running 2 cores?
If so, then they would use 2 dies for both the CPUs. Intel would use 2 dies as well for their 1 CPU wich has 4 cores.

This seems like the Xbox 360, wich needs 3 CPUs (each having 2 cores) to equal the PS3's 1 CPU (that has 8 cores).
As in, because AMD only has Dual-Core CPUs, they have to place 2 CPUs in the same PC, in order to have 4 cores like Intel has in their 1 CPU PC.
But then, AMD will have Quad-Core CPUs as well, and soon.. so why the need for this?
Are they going to have 8 cores(!) in the same PC, like the PS3? And then what will Intel do? Hmm, i guess they will have their 65nm or less process and better performance for each core to back them up.

Makes sence its being released now. November is the month that everything gets released in - PS3, G80, XQX6700, and even the stupid Wii.

I used to love the Wii when i thought it had a 2.8Ghz CPU and that it's performance was similar to that of the PS3 and the Xbox 360.
Nintendo said "we arent thinking as much abt graphics, but gameplay", so i thought "their console will be A LITTLE bit weaker".
Then they tell me that that Wii = Xbox, and im like "WTF!", then they decide to call the "Revolution"......... "Wii"(!!!)
Thats when i cut the line. :(

PS3 is the best for a few reasons, but the Xbox 360 tried really hard and competes very well. If u dont look at the evidence that a 7800 GT is better than the Xbox 360 (graphics wise), then u could say that the PS3 and Xbox 360 have similar graphics and performance.

PCs all the way, err.. i mean graphics cards *praise mike*.
