Hi,
a few days ago my 6600 GT from PNY bit the dust. Thank God newegg.com offered to get me a refund!
The new question is what to do with my money now! I can get a way better card for around the same price as my old one and have narrowed it down to 2 choices:
The Geforce 7600GS 256MB 128-bit GDDR2 AGP 4X/8X Video Card -

or

Geforce 6800XT 256MB 256-bit GDDR3 AGP 4X/8X Video Card

The 6800 is about 20 dolalrs cheaper but thats not a big issue. I know i loved my 6600 gt, so i have prior expirience with the series 6 line.
I know the series 7 has soem newer features, but over all they both seem to have their strong points.
I mostly play World of Warcraft, and some FPS, and real time strategy. I know its kinda overkill for those games but i enjoy having really pretty graphics and high frame rates.

What i need to know is this, which card do you think is better for me and why?

I have a p4 2.6ghz with 1 gig of ram and a AGP 8x slot.
Thanks!

Well, u came to the right place.

The only problem with buying a new graphics card, is that ur CPU may be a possible bottlenck, since its quite old.

Starting off, the 7600 GS is a waste of money. For only a few dollars more u can have the 7600 GT wich is far better. The 6800 XT has only 128Mb of RAM wich is unacceptable in today's world, but if u could get a 256Mb version AND unlock the pipelines, in wich case doubling the card's performance, then it would indeed be the card to get.

However i reccomand the 7600 GT. Its one of the most powerfull cards for AGP and only a little more expensive then the 6600 GT.
Youll be very happy with it.
