X1950 PRO 512, on CoD4...

Ive had this card[ since 07-08 time frame, but it seems that i cant immerse myself in the lush graphics of CoD4. Could it be because i have a Pentium 4 w/ HT 3.0 as a CPU? And also i was thinking of getting a GT 430 just to upgrade this old dell. Shouldnt this card blow me away on Cod4?

First,

Yes, the x1950 Pro should have no problem with COD4. Your problem is your CPU. Disable hyperthreading. That won't help. If you tell me what motherboard you have, I can recommend a cheapo CPU upgrade. If you can't upgrade to a dual core, fuggeddaboudit. You're big time CPU bound.

Second,

Even with that CPU, you should have no problem maxing out the game. Please give us detailed system specs so we can better troubleshoot the problem. Also, please tell us the settings your attempting to use on COD4, and the problems you're encountering when doing so.
