For an unfortunate turn of events I ended up with the eVGA 6800XT  (please tell me is not a bad choice :( ) I have read that this can be unlocked and overclocked to really max it out making it very powerful :D

I have never heard of unlocking or overclocking so how do I do it cuz wana make this purchase worth and get all the power of this 6800XT I can

Is it difficult? Can it cause problems that will ruin the card; can I do it even if I am not a pro?

Help here!

I really wanted the 7600GS!!! but Ill have to work with what I have now

You CAN mess up the card...although it's not likely unless you do something stupid. Let me see if I can't find something on specifically the 6800XT

I hear they have a pretty nice unlock if your card can do it. You can try and unlock via RivaTuner or flashing the BIOS. I think RivaTuner is probably safer/easier...this guide should apply:
