Is it better to have the ATI Radeon 7000 that has 64mb ram or is it better to have a ATI Radeon 7200 that has 32mb ram? I always thought more ram will be the best. Btw both cards are exactly the same but just one added feature on the 7200 is it has T&L.

I know that they do make both the 7000 and 7200 with 64mb but I was just wondering if the 7000 had 64mb and the 7200 had only 32mb which would overall be better.

Btw please don't compair this to todays cards since I know todays are alot better this question was something I always wondered about. If there is someone that can test this out that would be nice also.

Thank You

well it would depend if the memory is
DDR or SDR

but really the difference that way would be minor

as for the difference between the two cards
performance wise...i really don't know

i can't even find specs for the 7200
or a bench that shows 7200 vs 7000

the cards are 8 years old...

but i'd probably go for the higher memory card

Well I thought all Radeon 7000 series had DDR. Anyways so you are saying the Radeon 7000 series that has 64mb would be better than having the 7200 that has 32mb but also has transform clipping lighting.

I guess I could ask this but what does transform clipping lighting do? Is this feature not so important meaning won't make any performace difference? Since I know there are tons of features on video cards and this is one of them but I guess it's not that important to have T&L and looks like it's better to have more MB than T&L. If this is the case for my older desktop PC I will get a used Radeon 7000 that has 64mb. I currently own the Radeon 7200 that has 32mb but I think the 7000 that has 64mb will perform little better since it has 64mb and not just 32mb.

sell your system to a museum
if you have 550$ buy a new system
if you don't get a job you bum:)

i mean holy smoking cow.
perfect example of going past the point of diminishing returns.

I still need to know if it's overall better to have a ATI Radeon 7000 that has 64mb SDR or a Radeon 7200 that has 32mb SDR. I found out the one I have is a SDR type ram so I wanted to compair the Radeon 7200 32mb SDR to a ATI Radeon 7000 64mb SDR.

Thank you

I don't think anyone will be able to answer that.
It may be that a comparison was never done.

Well even if both are DDR type ram which would be overall better?

ATI Radeon 7000 64MB

ATI Radeon 7200 32MB

won't know until you try them...

might be almost no difference at all even with the memory difference
