460 and 465 now stand as two separate gpus gents.
the 460 (based on gf 104 (fermi II)architecture) both sitting in the 200 dollar range. now for the goods:
gtx 460 sits below the hd 5830 in technical breakdown and costing around 225 bucks a pop. no news on how it preforms however
the 465 (based on gf 100 architecture (fermi))however is the 5850's new competitor costing 290 bucks ea. these babies will generally sit where their price suggests above the 5830 but below the 5850 if not even with one.
based on its technical breakdown that we have at the moment and acquired benchmarks (crysis, farcry 2, futuremark, ungine heaven)
finally nvidia has disclosed that fermi just isn't enough to handle a dual core gpu so the existing plans have been burned for a gf 100 dual core prize fighter. BUT having an ati card holding the title is something they refuse to let stand. gf104 will be the firing solution. no dates or performance yet for this new gpu but until it shows hd 5970 = fastest gpu on the planet (with two cores).
