Should we start pimping the site in hopes of gathering unto us more members?
I could put something in my signature or something over at [H]ard|Forums and so could Phranq, if he wants.

What should the adverb say?

Are you into video cards? Join us over at GPUReview.com!!

GPUReview.com needs you to help make it THE place for gpu info!!

So what do you think?

If you want I could ask Kyle to post something for us in the [H]ardNews.
He might help us out if he likes the site and thinks it is a good idea.

I totally agree. I've been meaning to go pimping the site out on all the major hardware forums (anandtech, hardocp, nvnews, xbit, toms, rage, beyond3d etc) but I've just been unbelievably busy and every free second I've had I've devoted to getting all the reference card pics done...

I think the best way to go about this is to just look for threads asking to compare two cards, or looking for a list of retail cards etc...and then just reply with a link...

Just want to make sure we don't go spamming anyone.

If you think Kyle would like to put a link on the front page, then by all means drop him a line. Personally, I'm still too wrapped up in the content creation part to think about promoting the site that much. But I should probably do something before you and phranq submit every videocard/review on the face of the planet...

I have done that only twice so far.
I will ask Kyle about it tomorrow.

I think the seed is already planted at the [H], I see links coming from there all the time in my server logs. Need to branch out to other forums...

80 reviews in one night mentok? you're completely out of control...;)

No I did not do 80 in one night.
All the 6800 Ultra reviews were from Thursday I think.
I did like maybe 40-50 last night.

I'm game, I should go sign up at some of those that I'm not already and start trolling around for "XXX card vs. XXX card" posts.

My new signature.
Everything lines up correctly on the [H]ard|Forums.

I was not able to ask Kyle today because I was really busy today.
I will try to do it tomorrow.

WHAT THE FUCK!!!

What the [H]ell man?
You should have said so!

(Looks for ^eMpTy^'s profile)
Hey you are a 2[H]4U.
You probably know Kyle better that me.
You should've asked him.

I have talked to him like only three times.

Kyle's response:

"Just to be fully honest with you, I don't see giving you guys any more press than we already have as you use 3DMark scores as a baseline metric for gaming performance."

I did not know that we recieved press from [H]ardOCP.
Oh well.

Also this is largest thread in the forums now!!
I noticed cause the 11th post when onto the second page, which prompted me to change my setting to 40 posts per page.

Be careful with your pimping at [H] I wouldnt be surprised if you get banned. They are very touchy feely over some of their stuff it seems. And they seem to be lacking the total point of this site right now.

I'll mention this site more often at work, as if I dont already use it often enough, to people. And I'll pimp it on a few forums that I visit on a regular basis.

Yah, [H] + futuremark=not friends :p

Seriously though, it's one of the more fair ways to compare cards...

I'm very careful about posting over there. I never spam the place, I just post the link every so often to help answer questions. These days people usually beat me to it anyways...:)

why not post / send news on nzbzone? I know a ton of people read that news. I would do it but I imagine you could probably provide a better "writeup" than I could (statistics / figures, for instance).

Just a suggestion.

I already posted it on NASIOC - you probably got some traffic from there.

One way we could direct more members here is if someone is on another non-hardware related forum (or even hardware related I suppose) and someone asks the question "which card - this one or this one" - you can set up the comparison and then link them to it. That would generate some buzz I imagine.

-Jason

Edit - just saw this further up. :) You know what "they" say ... Great minds...

I just found your site and think it's a great idea. I was always wondering about how and where to compare cards since I'm in the market for an upgrade. I'll ask more in another post in the ATI section later. I'll mention your site in my next post at the AVS home theater forum. One bit of advice...clean up the language. The guy yelling "what the f..." will get you banned from more sites faster than you can blink. You should delete that if possible. When I check the new sites that my son uses, I do a search for foul language. If I find any, they get banned. He's only 10 and doesn't need to be introduced to that yet. He's already into computers, so your site could have a real potential for educating him. Good luck

We've actually talked about it a little bit. I'll talk to mike about options. We originally wanted to keep it totally open but there might be a way to please everyone.

Thanks for the suggestion, look around, and welcome to the forums. Let us know if you have any more suggestions, questions, or anything else.

Personally I like to let people speak their minds. But I can see how this might cause problems. Right now I have more pressing matters to attend to, but I will address this at a later date.

Hi guys, I just found you also. I've been searching the web looking for a solution to a problem I'm having and stumbled across your sight.

Have you guys tried touching base with some of the gaming clans? Several of them are very low budget groups and try to share free info. The Video Card questions are popping up almost daily with some of the newer games coming out.

Anyway, keep up the good work. I really like your website!

I think I want to get the database where I want it...then start writing a bunch of FAQs and articles and get all that organized...and then start looking for partners and such...then from there I'll start doing my own reviews...
