Geforce 9800GT or Geforce 8800 GTX

Which is better of the two. I have the 8800GTX but im thinking about the 9800 GT.

Can anyone offer me a suggetion.:confused:

More or less equal with the 8800 GTX edging out the 9800 GT by just a bit ( if memory serves ) .
If you're thinking of upgrading , I suggest you look at a HD 5850 or HD 5870 if you've got money to spend ... both of 'em are by far faster than the 8800 GTX .
If you do choose to purchase a HD 5850 or HD 5870 , wait 'til nVidia releases it's cards ( which should in turn lower the prices ) .
However I don't really see the point in upgrading at this point , that 8800 GTX would probably serve you well enough for a year or two more .

No, the 8800gtx is still a good bit more powerful. The 9800gt sits roughly on par (it's slightly more powerful) with the 640mb 8800GTS. It's beaten solidly by the 8800GTX.

have to go up to a 260 or 280

or higher to get any sort of perofrmance
