4870x2 and 4870 vaporx

alright i have a quick question just bought myself a 4870x2 from saph. and a couple mins after i bought it i came across a 4870 vaporx card with 2gb mem. which is the same as the x2 so which is "better " i ask because for some reaosn today im having a pain finding info on the vapor x card. thx.

quicker to the point did i shaft myself by buying the 4870x2 for about 250 when i found the vaporx localy for around 270 priced canadian.

You have to remember that the 4870 X2 is TWO 4870 chips that have 1 GB of memory each. The 2 GB Vapor-X model is ONE 4870 that has been upgraded to 2 GB of memory. If you have games or programs that will take advantage of Crossfire, then keep the 4870 X2. Otherwise, you might want to return it for the 2 GB 4870. Or even better, if you return it, see if there is a 2 GB 4890, which is slightly faster than the 4870.

umm ya the X2 card is two 4870's

and really 2gb of memory on 1 card...won't really matter

the X2 card will perform in 95% of cases way better than the single

only a few games out there don't benefit from a crossfire setup
or don't work well with one.

well hoping it performs good done keeping ahead in that race with video cards. i had a 3870 then crossfired them when price went down them my mb burnt so i got a new one and i was given a 3870x2 and at somepoint i swear its not as good as the two 3870's.

2GB of vRAM on a single GPU is 100% useless at the moment .
Get the HD 4870 X2 , mate .

The 4870x2 is by FAR more powerful. The 4870 won't use 2gb RAM in any game out there.

2gb VRAM is hard for any game save GTAIV to find usage for at the moment. Even with a card like the 5870 you'd currently be overdoing it with 2gb video ram at any sane resolution.

Well it arrived in the mail today was really looking forward to trying it out but this morning i had to bring my computer in to the shop total crash dont know what happened this time problems with almost every damn piece of hardware in it this time i think its the mobo so guess ill have to wait.
