Hi to all
I need to know about Ati-4650 & Nvidia 8600-Gts.
I maybe buy one of these cards so plz guide me choose the best.

(1) In both of these cards which perform better?
(2) Which is better on Windows Vista?
(3) Which is better on (Acer) 18.5'' LCD?
(4) Which is bad in relating heat issues?
(5) Which is working properly on CoolerMaster 460 watt Psu?
(6) Finally in Ati & Nvidia which is better in concerning user support?

Thanks

1)The HD 4650 is faster , but I'd recommend a HD 4670 or a HD 4770 , they are both riddiculously cheap and marginally faster , than the HD 4650 .
2) Doesn't really matter what card . And why on earth would you use Vista anyway ? Windows 7 beta releases are by far better , and it's official release is not (that) far from now .
3)A 18.5" LCD ? What's the native resolution ? In any way , the HD 4650 is better , than the 8600 GTS , while the HD 4670 is even better and the HD 4770 is by far better .
4) Depends on the cooler . Unless you get a passive heatsink ( which I find stupid and useless ) , heat doesn't matter much .
5) All of the cards mentioned will work with that CPU , provided the rest of your PC isn't an electricity hog .
6) That depends on the AIB partner from whom you are going to buy the card from . XFX , BFG (nVidia only , doesn't sell ATi cards) , Asus and Sapphire are among the best , as far as I know .

To answer your question, the 4650 is faster than the 8600gts.

To go more in depth into the card I will say that it is horribly limited by it's standard memory type - gddr2 doesn't cut it above 500mhz and eats more power than gddr3. If you can find a higher clocked gddr3 version for a good price then go for it, otherwise I would have to recommend spending a few extra bucks and getting a 4670. The performance difference is quite noticeable.

Look for something like this: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814102838
Notice, GDDR3 @ 700mhz (1400 effective)

Ok, as for your questions...

1. The 4650 is faster

2. Both manufacturers have drivers running quite well with vista so it really comes down to raw performance, so the 4650.

3. That would depend on the monitor's maximum resolution, not screen size. The 4650 should be better since it's... That's right, a more powerful card! (though the gddr2 version is limited by bandwidth, which becomes even more of a problem at higher resolutions)

4. Like Radiator said, it depends on the cooler. Neither really has any serious problems, though the 8600gts can run hotter.

5. They will both work fine with that PSU.

6. Again, like Radiator said, it depends on the board partner. For Nvidia I'd recommend EVGA, ASUS, XFX, or BFG. For ATI cards I'd recommend Sapphire, XFX, or ASUS. EVGA and BFG seem to want to hold onto the title of "best support" pretty tightly, but they only make Nvidia boards. You shouln't have a problem with any of them though.

Oh Thanx 4 ur quick reply's.

Ok my (Acer X193HQ) 18.5'' has 1366x768 max resolution.
Kindly guide me as you said that Ati 4670 is much better than Ati 4650 & Nvidia 8600GTS so if i buy Ati 4670 should i also have to
change my CM 460 Watt Psu or it works just fine?

It's enough .
I'd still suggest the HD 4770 , it's not that much more expensive , but it's considerably faster , than the HD 4670 .
That's an odd resolution for a monitor ...

Doesnt the 4770 also take less watts than the 4670 because of its 40nm gpu?
And isn't it much more overclockable?
And if you put a external cooler on it wouldnt be even MORE overclockable?

Interesting card the 4770, buy it

Ahh... BUT the 4670 and 4770 are both more... EXPENSIVE! And depending on the applications you'll be using you might not need either.

That's always the catch. If it fits into your budget you should think about getting one of them though, the 4670 is a pretty good bang for the buck and the 4770 even more so.

If you're gaming then the 4770 will max out almost anything at your resolution with good frames and the 4670 will come close.

If you're doing video editing, photoshop, etc. then the 4650 would do fine. Hell, for that you'd do fine with a hd3450.
