But is it REALLY worth the upgrade from the 8800GS series? I mean... the new DX11 will be available at the end of this year, although I'm pretty sure the models will be the high-end ones, if you look back at both Ati's and nVidia's history.
They first launch the high-ends then the mainstream/low-end.

whoah... some of the benchies have it beating out the 4850 when overclocked...

I think this shows how useful GDDR5 really is for boosting price/performance, it doesn't seem limited at all by it's VRAM and it's only got a 128 bit interface.

well its on a 40nm video chip as well
so it should overclock well

part of the reason they didn't do high end was that
they just got the new 4000 card out and then apparently they
were having power leakage issues as well

so i'm sure they will get a high end card out soonish
