My GTX 295 runs dam hot, and i dont think my case sucks or anything,
It runs at 59C - 61C idle at auto fan speed and about 80C - 90C while playing Crysis @ 100% fan (if auto, temp reaches 100C). Now concerned for the condition of the card... Do any external coolers exist for this card?

Now im not interested in water cooling (already saw the danger den water blocks), I just dont trust it yet and its pricy... I was wondering if there was any "liquidless" cooling solution for my card like just a huge ass fan or heat sink that attaches to it.

Chanced upon some VGA passive coolers in the Cooler Master website earlier, others might have as well, but I don't know if they'll be able to bring temperatures down. You can try the phase change cooling system, but that's for the whole pc and very expensive.

My OC'd HD4870 sometimes reaches 100C at auto fan just playing FIFA 09. :p

I had no idea those temperatures were safe for it (I mean the 100s and 90s),
so i guess i dont really have to worry then, huh... I still wouldnt mind a external cooler if anyone comes by one.

Well , it's safe but it's still not good for the card... but if it hits 100 degrees only in Crysis if you don't have the fan at 100% , then it shouldn't shorten it's lifespan at all . 90 degrees is safe even if you have it at that for longer periods of time . But you could just add some 12cm vents to the case , mate .

Thanks for the output, i just went out and got a nice fan. Its Called the:
Scythe Ultra Kaze 120mm 3000rpm. I installed it in the back and it moves so much air out :D . Its loud but noise has never been of my concern.

Well it did... but in other areas. The Cpu runs about 8C cooler and the mobo runs about 10C cooler. But the Gpu runs only about 4C cooler which is okay I guess.

So now as a temp solution, Im just using a regular house fan on my case lol.
Brings GPU temps about 10C lower... it adds up.

Still, I will be looking for an external cooler for this bugger. I have read many articles on this card, and most say because of its unique design of 2 PCBs, a external cooler might not ever come just waterblocks. Looks like I may have to save up for water cooling after all. I want to still avoid it if there is any chance.

ALSO, the fan only cost me $10 so thats damn good.
