I wonder how many transistors will there be on this thing .
Edit: Hmm.. 300 million transistors more compared to the HD 3870 . And nVidia doubled it's transistor count compared to the G80 .

The RV770PRO is GDDR3 and the RV770XT is GDDR5, there's no GDDR4 version AFAIK. I owned two of these in Crossfire and their performance was so spectacular that was able to keep up with newer cards like the HD 5870. It uses a lot of power at idle and runs hot, but aren't noisy and their image quality and performance are top notch, no matter if you're playing DX9/DX10/DX10.1 tittles. The HD 4870 is a card that shows the prowess of the original R600 design, even though it is interpolator limited so it will never reach its full theoritcal texture filtering potential, which got fixed with the HD 5x00 series which does the interpolation work on shaders with better performance.
