Was the very first DX9 compliant chip and made history along with the GeForce 256 for being the fastest and most advanced card made, beating the rivals for quite a long time. Even after 3 years of it's release, the card had enough power to run high demanding games and even the R420/R480 were based on this architecture that further increased the performance. A testament of this powerful architecture!

Quite possibly one of the greatest achievements in graphical history! This card blew away the competition for years! I myself used this card on multiple computers since the day I got it when it released and it still kicks butt on games like doom 3, quake 4, battlefield 2, farcry, hl2, css, eq2, you name it! All of those games are completely playable on medium settings and all look beautiful with this card! I finally upgraded due to the times and dx10. But seriously u can't beat this classic. I only wish ATI continued with the same jaw dropping engineering as they did with this card.

If you're like me and the two video cards you've ever bought were a 9700 Pro and an 8800 (gts) series, you know what it feels like to have the groundbreaking hardware. And it is good.
