ATi Launches The Radeon HD 3870 X2

Today ATi finally unveils the highly anticipated and oft-rumored 3870 X2. So far the results look very positive. The multi-gpu implementation is reportedly very solid and performance is above an 8800 Ultra (but still shy of 2 8800 GTs). ATi has managed to steal the high end crown from nVidia once more, though I think we all know the X2's stay on the throne will be short (i.e. the impending 9800 GX2).

For now though, the X2 is king, and we have all the reviews and retail card info you could want right here:

Nah man, having 2 cores on one card has nothing to do with crossfire or sli, you can run them on any standard x16 pcie board.

8800 GTX, GTS 512, and Ultra are all still faster when you crank up AA and AF at high resolutions actually.
