Asus makes you a HD 3850 X2 for Passover.

Asus is hoping that you won't be able to Passover this "World Exclusive Dual HD3850 GPU Solution". It looks very similar to Asus' non-reference 3870 X2 designs due to the fact that it uses the same cooling solution. Unfortunately, the 3850 X2 has only 2 DVI ports instead of the 4 that the are on Asus' 3870 X2s.

Please pay no attention to the data currently located on the Specifications page for this card. I really don't think this card has 32MB or 64 bit memory.

X2 comparison.

Very nice try, i would like to see the first bencmarks and reviews.Overclock this card and it would be a 3870x2.If it's an ati solution and not asus, imagine what it's going to happen here if there is the same Ati pcice policy. Can it be the first dual card that breaks the 200$ or 200euros !!!!!

I suppose it'll be around 200 euros... which is 300 USD .
This card doesn't have much of a future , though . I think so atleast . Then again , if ATi works their magic on their drivers , it could be quite a useful thing .

200 euros is very different from 200$ with the current (terrible) exchange rate.

But I think its really cool that Asus is actually doing things besides just adding an aftermarket cooler on cards.

AMD released Catalyst 8.4. In the release note they did not mention any improvement of the proformance but lots of the minor issue corrections. Anyway the driver actually contains supports for HD3850 X2.
