Overall this card is a bit of a disappointment. Its MSRP puts it against the 7900GT, but performance wise its 12 pipelines are a considerable limitation. The 7900GT is hands down faster, and that's before you overclock it.

but the X1900GT supports HDR AA and at 4X AA ther is little to no performance loss with HDR enabled. this has been proven by firingsquad.com with Oblivion and Farcry(w/HDR on)

I don't think HDR AA in a couple of games really justifies being slower in nearly every game. But it's your money.

Slower in every game? Au contraire. Having owned both, I am happy to announce, my Sapphire X1900GT soundly beats my XFX 7900GT buy 200 3dmarks and is faster in most games and has more features.

Not to mention the sxc cooler.

I have to disagree, every review I've read shows the 7900GT consistently ahead of the X1900GT.

ATI has now stopped manufacturing this card, so prices have dropped to around $150 at a few online retailers. This makes this now one of the best deals out there, period (if you can find it...).
