@Headfoot: You really need to find very carefully, the only company that made it AGP is PowerColor

Ah, excellent. I just used the regular PCI-E version of the 3650 in a computer I am building for a relative and it is pretty solid for its price and power consumption

As i can conclude this one is slower than the hd2600xt , so hd2600xt still is the best agp card (not counting the hd3850 wich doesnt give much better results on agp, because of the slow single-cored cpu's)

This card is truly terrible! Plagued with problems, wasted $210 on it... (Brand new the day it came out)

And it overtaxed my 450 watt PSU.

And yes, mine was Powercolor and it had the worst cooling system in history.

I've used this card in my rig for about a year now. It runs great for me, but I had some trial and error finding the correct driver to use with XP Pro SP3.

In the end, the driver which came on the installation disk worked the best (v8.501.0.0). The newer drivers and the AGP hotfix drivers caused crashes and other issues (go figure). At least I don't have to worry about upgrading. If it ain't broke don't fix it. ;)

The HD3650 has 725 clock speeds vs. HD2600XT's 800 speeds.
If do the side by side compare, I can't see any difference except effect of lower clock.
HD3650 has power saver to lower the clock speed.

My HD2600XT (PCIE) and my HD3650 (PCIE) work fine using a short 1-lane slot!
Point - shouldn't tax the AGP bus too much.

This card can be a good upgrade for an aging system, however I would stress to potential buyers that driver problems are very common with this card. Speaking from personal experience, the system experienced many more BSODs and Freezes after installation. The system was quite old, it was also running windows XP, both factors which could have caused the card to function less than optimally, but it should still be kept in mind. My advice; friend, its probably time to get a new system altogether.
