Costs less, takes less power and runs faster than the 7970!
Also I see that you have changed the specs from the old leaked GK 110 core 680 to the new GK 104 680, but you forgot to change what core the GTX 680 is now using, it is using GK 104 now. :)

Add to that that Nvidia chips are always harder and more complex to make. :)
This comes in light of trying to order a GTX 670. I even had enough for a 680. They were all still sold out at NCIX for me. I went with an AMD HD 7870 and a new case instead. :P

The power requirement is surprisingly low for the 3.5 Billion transistors. Yes. Billion lol. I run two GTX 680's SLI'ed which outperforms the GTX 690 for about 48 dollars less then the price of a GTX 690. If you choose to SLI two GTX 680's I strongly advise a 1,200W PSU with 95 AMPS on 12v rail.
