After reading about 90% of the reviews listed here, the GTX295 is on par, slightly faster at lower resolutions, and slightly slower at higher resolutions with cranked AA. By no means is this card the 4870x2 killer. And at a $500 price point I dont really think its gonna deal Ati's current king a huge blow. Plus with the 4850x2, at $329-349 which gives a exceptional price/performance ratio, there is no real need (unless your gamming at crazy high resolutions with 8XAA), for either of the two.

It seemed like a pretty clear win in most situations, about 10%. 20% in Far Cry 2. 2-5% on a couple others. Thats significant enough for people who pay this much money for a card.

Even in it's first moments , this card is undisputable better than 4870 X2 , with unoptimized beta drivers.Let's see what happends , when they update drivers 4-5 times, Ati did it 1000 times until now.So overall this card is 4870 killer.

better, maybe yes, 4870x2 killer, dont really think so. Just think about the shelf life of this card, when it was released, and its price range and ask yourself; if new generation cards are around the corner will you jusify $530 to buy this card currently. 4870x2 has done its damage for the lifespan that its has. This sorta reminds me of the x1950 pro DUAL card, in that it was yet very powerful but released kinda late.

EgiTheKing - At that time there was no nVidia card , that did damage - the X1900 XT/XTX and the X1950 XT/XTX dominated the highend bit with an iron fist .
This is the card people will buy when they want a new highend gaming PC , but this card was released only in small numbers just to get the crown back , so not many people will have it , and I don't think anyone is stupid enough to sell their HD 4870 X2 to buy this card ... yes , it's faster , but what's the point really ? The HD 4870 X2 runs anything at max with ease ( ok you can't play Crysis at 2560x1600 at Very High , but so what ) . As EgiTheKing said , the HD 4870 X2 has done it's damage already .

if it weren't for the 4870x2 then this card wouldn't exist, it was mearly a hesitated action for Nvidia to retake the crown

i think a good graphic must accompany a good price and excellence performance and also cater a our needs. This one is extremely beyond our needs No point buying this card unless you want to waste money. Recently, i think Geforce 9800gt is the most suitable one. I run smoothly on Crysis, Need for speed most wanted, Batman, Call of duty..etc.

this card should be out like in 2030 not now and even if im so rich i won't buy it cause it's too stupid to waist money for something even the flying programme wouldn't use it
