The Gddr5 version is almost equivalent to the 9600gt with DX10.1... except... it costs more.

Hopefully it's price will drop in a bit otherwise try again.

Today NewEgg had a sale for an EVGA GT 240 with 512MB DDR5 for $30 after a $25 coupon (HARDOCP721A) and a $30 rebate. It sold out in a few hours even with lukewarm card reviews on the NewEgg site. That is a good value for that level of video performance. Yet the low price probably says the market for those cards is rather weak.
