These support directX 10.1.

That might help explain why such a silent launch of NV's first 40nm GPU. NV doesn't want to make a big deal about being second on either count.

Also, the page acts like the card doesn't have a unified architecture. On top of that the card has both gddr2 and gddr3 variants. The GDDR3 version has a 1012mhz stock clock speed also, which gives it a 32.4gbps bandwidth if my math is right.

So... there are a couple of problems with the page.

The card seems to stand between the 9500gt and the 9600GSO, but still get beaten by the hd4670.

Oh well, try again Nvidia.

yeah as I was juts explaining to a friend this use of 1GB DDR2 is really pretty bad. I'm not an apple fan by any strech of the imagination (infact 2 of my friends are certified apple technicians and both of em hate the hardware) but one of the things i like about apple is how they tell you whats best for performance. When your avg no-research consumer gets into hardware bad things happen --such as 1GB of 400 failHertz DDR2.

and yeah RK, looking at the retail cards, it looks like the memory configuration is pretty loose, but if your considering buying this card you definately want, without question, 512MB of GDDR3, hell sacrifice yourself down to 256mb of GDDR3 before you go with this 400MHz slop.

There's very little doubt in my mind that the humble numbers this card will give you will be slaughtered by oodles of slow memory. When it comes to memory, almost always, the shot of espresso is better than the tub of dunkin doughnuts coffee.

Hey, people, I am a bit of a noob when it comes to a graphics card, but I need a much better one than my ATi Radeon HD 3200 inbuilt thing, it dies if I put my Bad Company 2 on medium graphics quality or higher. What I need to know, is. Is this card better than a Radeon HD 4650? I have seen somebody say it was worse than 4670, but that has better memory than the 4650, which only has ddr2. I have a budget of about £60-£70. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I have to get a card in that budget, which the 4650 is, and so is this one. I can't see the 4670 on my nearest store's shelf, or on their website, so I have kinda put it out of the equation. I wish there was a HD 4660, would be awesome. Not gonna happen.
