it has more texuture units 64 and 120 shader operation and 20 raster operations trust me i was right about the 8800 gt to

and think about it its faster than the gtx, and you say the only avantage of the 512 gts over the gtx is 9200 shaders i dont think so

and y would it draw 40 more watts lol from 50mhz on the core and 70mhz on memory u can delete these if u want but change it i know its right

I dont think you were right about the last one beacuse you are wrong about this one... atm its set to come in at 128SP's, 16rops, 32(64) TMU's.

I think i'll second Andrew's statement. Except for the 120 shader operations. It's not even 112! it's suppose to have 128, just like the GTX

so it has 128sps but i say the 3dmark 06 of the msi 8800gt which almost has the same clocks as a 8800gts and it benched liek 200 more so idk whats up, but i know it has 64, but idk it could be the same but would seem really pointless wouldnt u think, but i was right about the 28/56 on the 8800gt and ghost

I still dont get why it says taht on texture units double what the 8800GT and GTS actually have, GTX have basically the same ones either these should be halved or the rest of the 8 series should have theirs doubled, otherwise its not a fair comparison.

Should have 16rops too I believe, not 100% sure on that but according to archicture it should have.

True, very very true - I think they should really fix this.

If you look at some benchies between the GT and GTS-512 you'll see there isn't a big difference in FPS, between 10-15 :- the raw power is just too much for current CPUs to handle.

would a 8800gt and a 512 8800gts work in sli they use the same core. just a different number of stream prosecers. could this posibly work?

Nope only ATI's crossfire had that feature of disabling pipes for use with different amounts of pipes on the same core.

gts 512 is all around better by 10 to 15% over the gt and is like 20 or $30 more plus you get a free copy of crysis and a better cooling system 10 to 15% is not much but is better period

best buy sells the gt for 215 and other places as well, great buy great card. i personally went through a 3870 in crysis and kane and lynch. its a piece of shit, in 1280 res with aa all the way up it barely moves same in crysis in sertain levels with alot of smaller bungalows. slows to shit i returned it and just bought the gts 512 and its unbelievable. on a flat screen 40 inch t.v. in 1300 res with aa all the way up and it runs smooth as hell smoother than ive ever seen a game play on all high settings. my computer is a stock hp with a intel d dual core 2.8 ghz 2g ram. fuck the benchmarks get this damn card. for all u stuck with the 3870 and gt call nvidia and ask for exchanges apple did it with the iphone when they dropped the price to 400.

@bezzle o.c. ca - Even a 8800 Ultra has framerate problems with AA in Crysis . And that's what you get from turning AA on on a sub 300 dollar card . AA doesn't do much to enhance the image quality (especially in crysis) and it kills the framerate... atleast in newest games .

Omfg totally disagree the difference in crysis between no AA and 4x AA is ENOURMOUS imo, I cant play it without it thats why I got some settings to medium with an 8800GT. Makes a huge difference, will also help when nvidia fix their drivers so I can use custom AA settings again.

That really depends wether you are playing on your monitor's native resolution or not .
If not , it sure makes some difference . But you'll have better performance in crysis at you monitor's native resolution and no AA , compared to 4x AA and a lower resolution .

How close are you to your monitor.. about 1 meter = you don't notice the jaggies .

Anyways , 4xAA makes any card choke in Crysis ... well prettymuch choke .
I barely notice the jaggies , even at 1024x768 ( my monitor's native is 1280x1024 ) , but then again , I'm not picky when it comes to jaggies / framerate ( I find 15FPS playable... ) .

If you are intent on having AA then I suggest you get a dual card solution .

from comments above I realized that GTS 512 is worth 100 $ more than GT (if you have them), and this card will beat all upcoming games (2008) on HIGH (without AA), right?

probably not :(

The market is stagnant. ATI hasn't answered the call. You can bet Nvidias got some blueprints going for a working G90 but dropped it due to lack of competition from ATI.

So no, it wont run every game in 2008 on high. It wont take crysis at 1600X1200 on high. The 9800GX2 wont even do that.

GG.

Would an Athlon 64x2 5200 bottleneck this card or would a faster processor be better?

You'll be alright, it will be a far better investment for gaming than a better processor.

This is a great card. i would recomend it its only 200 euro now

Preaty good but when it heat up, my game freaze, i had to remouve the plactic casing plus the fan, then, just under, i instal a PCI slot double fan holder ($20), now i have a real video card gamer.
