Thank you Mike! For putting this card up! Ok basically its the same as a 7900gtx except lower mem speeds and it's cheaper then the 7950gt by 50$. Best of all the even though the mem is slower by 40mhz then the 7950gt it's 1.2ns while the 7950's is 1.4ns so you do the math it's a bit faster then the 7950gt.Btw it wlll beat the new x1900xt in most games and it will match the 7900gtx, x1900xtx, and x1950xtx in very few games.

P.S. This card is a way for evga to thin out it's supply of g71 gpus because the g80 is coming out in a month, So there's a drawback buy this now or wait a month for DX10 cards it's your choice. My advice buy it if you dont plan on going for vista.

This is nVidia answer to ATI's X1900XT (256Mb) in the price/performance market. ATI still has HDR AA, AVIVO, Fetch4, 512-bit memory bus and a few other features so they still win, but if ur an nVidia fan (im trying to quit but its really hard!!) the 7900 GTO is perfect for u, unless u have a Core 2 Duo in wich case u should probably just wait for G80.

Actually it's Evga's answer. Don't you know? Evga and Sapphire do this every card generation, they both release a "special" version(AKA 1800gto,7900gto,and x800gto) Right before the new line of gpu's arrive. Why simple to thin out their supply so they can make back as much money as possible.
Btw no card has 512bit mem bus other then the gx2(Both 7900 and 7950).

P.S. have you seen the msrp for the g80? $499 for a cut down version? Man no thanks i think i'll just wait a bit for ati's answer and see the prices go down aswell.

The 7950 GX2 is 2 cards, so its as if they put 256 and 256 together, its stupid.
What im talking abt is the "512-bit internal ring bus" that the X1900s have. And NO i didnt know that only EVGA and Sapphire make these cards, makes sence though dont it? I guess i should give the credit to them and not to nVidia.
If the G80 costs 500$, then i trust that its twice as good as the X1900XT.

I know Track that it was a combined mem bus but the x1900s's 512 mem bus aint really 512 because its only internal. True about the g80 but i'm waiting for "Mainstream" dx10 parts meaning a die shrink and lower prices as a result of competition.

This is currently the BEST price/performance card in the world, meaning that it will get u the same FPS as an X1900XT 256MB, but it has 512MB for the same price. Unless u look at the advantages of the X1900XT, but most dont.

I have the eVGA version of the card. Right now, it's running @ 650/1600. Very pleased with it.

I'm running the MSI version of this card at 705MHz Core - 1800MHz Mem.
A really nice card, but my budget power supply is struggling to keep it going.
I might wait a few months and get a second one, when they've really dropped in price.

Great card, Nvidia's "gift" to the savvy enthusiast. 256-bit, 512MB, Nvidia's best cooler and the top of the line 650MHz core.

Too bad it's impossible to sell on the secondary market because it's all but unheard of.
