Note that this card is running 75Mhz slower on the core than its PCI-E counterpart. It is currently unknown whether or not the extra 4 pipelines will be unlockable.

BFG Tech is coming out with a 6800 GS OC AGP with 256 MB DDR3. It is overclocked @ 370 MHz core/1050(525)MHz memory. It is listed on their website.

The BFG version has 16 pipes too!

That's great, maybe the 6800 GS AGP doesn't seem so overpriced now.

From what I've seen, the extra 4 pipes will almost always unlock.

Does anybody here know whether or not the extra 4 pipelines on the 6800 GS CO are unlockable?

Can the BFG 6800 GS OC AGP be overlocked to 400-1100 with same temperatures as the EVGA 6800 GS CO AGP ???

I don't think you can get similar temps on the BFG 6800GS, the EVGA CO version a copper cooler which is better than the stock aluminum one. Though,I'm getting the BFG 6800GS just because I'm positive I have a better chance of unlocking pipes on the BFG than on the EVGA and 4 more pipes win over 50/50 increase in clockspeeds.

For a reference, I have had two bfg cards
one was a 6200 oc (375/400 stock) thats 75 more core and 150 more memory than the average 6200
And now i have a 6800 gs agp and its running with the 4 extra pipes and vertex shader (unlocked flawlessly) and oc'd at 415/1160
I get 100 fps on cod 2 dx7, 1024*768, AF, no AA, and textures on extra

Does tend to get hot though, I hope to get an artic cooler and hopefully have enough space after that for a pci slot cooler (talk about ocin then!) lol

in response to anonymous' question above on EVGA CO version.....YMMV. I bought 1 and it unlocked w/o artifacts over 3 hours of gaming.

I have a BFG6800GSOC, I unlocked all pipelines, but temps would reach almost 90°C, so I got an NV Silencer 5 Rev 3, now I have it running at 400Mhz core and 1.1Ghz mem, and temps never exceed 71°C. This is the same thing as having a 6800 Ultra.

I got the BFG 6800GS, pretty disappointed in my overclocking results, as it only went to 387/1070, and only the vertex shader unlocked, crashed on desktop trying to unlock the pipes. It is still a great card though, especially for the price.

I just got the BFG 6800GS AGP and yes, I managed to unlock both pipelines and vertex :D 16/6, and managed t ooverclock it to 400/1100, yeah how is a 6800U! temps are a little high... I will change the cooler.

Just got a Palit 6800GS AGP, 256Mb GDDR3. Was advertised as 425/500(1000) but the card I got looks just like a Palit 7900 sonic (same PCB and cooler) and runs at 450/600(1.2Ghz)! Haven't had the nerve (or need) to try unlocking or OC'ing yet!
