Ahh this is the card that has forever made me not buy any ATi cards even today. Athough ATi rocks these days back then this card was brutal. I remember playing the orignal Half-Life with this card and Quake2 in software mode. Played HL ok but sucked in Quake2. I swore I would never own an ATi card again and went 3dfx. Ironically 3dfx is gone and Ati is stronger then ever, go figure...

Wow this guy played Half Life with this card and is complaining about performance, .664GB/s, DUH of course it sucks.
My computer currently has thing thing in it and it can barely play flash games on low quality. If your a crazy old coot who wants legacy hardware, this is for you. :)

(The following statement is sarcastic in nature, it is not factual at all.) This card can play Crysis on maximum settings with minor lag. I get about 80 SPF when playing tetris. Good Card. I recommend it.

Indeed, this card sucks. End of story. But the framerates with it are good (Over 1500 SPF at times.)

Why is the 3d Rage II weaker than the original? That doesn't make any sense...

(Too Lazy to sign in) I used to have this GPU, comes with my old ASUS P2B-VM motherboard. It is because of this card I support ATi although the performance is crappy. ATi is the first GPU manufacturer I know and I will forever support ATi no matter what...

@Mr Nick, a little mistake, this card plays tetris at 80FPS, not SPF (second per frame)

With this card you can play "Crysis: the PONG version", with very good performance. Only dont move the paddle too fast, it may lag a bit.

Making fun of a card released in 96 is like making fun of a special olympic gold medalist for sprinting when he competes in the olympics 400m relay. As fun as that is to watch (yeah I'm going to hell, what of it) it's really not fair to make of of the dood afterward. But here's the press release from the 3D RAGE II:
